Support The Frontline at Lelu Island!

The Gitwilgyoots Tribe of the Tsimshian Nation has re-occupied their traditional territory at Lax U’u’la (Lelu Island) and are holding the space against the Petronas Pacific Northwest LNG plant.  This LNG export facility has been approved by the Trudeau government and would be under construction right now if not for the land and water protectors at Lelu Island.

The Gathering Allies Society is raising funds to subsidize travel costs for indigenous people from the West Coast who wish to go to the front-line to support the Gitwilgyoots land defence camp at Lelu Island.  Delegations are being organized from Bella Bella, Klemtu, Hartley Bay, Bella Coola, Alert Bay, and Kingcome Inlet.  We need money to pay for the flights and ferries. Thanks for your help!

Haida Delegation Heads to Lelu Island

On August 22nd, a delegation of Haida elders, youth, and children will travel to Lelu Island to support the Tsimshian occupation there. The Lelu Island encampment is preventing contractors for Pacific Northwest LNG from completing preliminary work at the mouth of the Skeena. Tsimshian territory has never been ceded to Canada or BC, and this encampment serves also to assert Tsimshian title to the area.  Support has been offered from surrounding nations, including the Haida. The Gathering Allies Society is subsidizing travel costs for this gathering.
